Impact on the Organization
Selecting the best people for each job is the single most important step you can take to achieve superior organizational performance. This behavioral interviewing module focuses on the two most crucial aspects of finding the right high-performance individuals — knowing what to look for in candidates, and learning how to assess it during interviews.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the components of an effective interview
- Identify the legal issues involved in interviewing candidates
- Understand the benefits of proper preparation and use strategies to find the “right fit”
- Conduct a practice interview
- Evaluate the practice interview for improvement
Program Description
This module focuses on the essential steps managers must take to hire the right person the first time. Participants will learn better ways to uncover evidence during an interview that the candidate can do the job well, and has the right behavior and character traits. The module introduces end-to-end guidelines that will help managers prepare, begin, and conduct interviews, and then follow up afterwards. Crucial legal issues associated with interviewing are also examined, including questions that interviewers may not ask. With this foundation in place, each participant will conduct a practice interview and receive expert feedback.
Time Investment
Typically 4 hours.
