Impact on the Organization
Giving presentations – and public speaking more broadly – is the #1 fear of adults. For millions, presenting in public is more terrifying than heights, snakes, even death. The good news is this: by imparting proven tools for presenting well, you can help your people overcome their fears and become far more effective in communicating their messages – and yours. Effective presentation skills improve your employees’ ability to convince and motivate customers, lead teams, and promote the bottom-up initiatives you need to become a more responsive, customer-focused organization. At the same time, you help improve employees’ personal self-confidence, morale, and performance – driving bottom-line improvements in areas ranging from retention to succession planning.
- Understand your audience’s needs, and plan a presentation to meet them
- Organize your presentation for maximum recall and impact
- Present ideas to your target audience in a clear, organized manner
- Learn four powerful, proven methods for delivering a winning, high-impact presentation
This module begins with content. Participants will learn how to analyze their audiences; then plan, organize, and write their presentations for maximum impact and recall. They will also learn how to create and use effective visual aids – and avoid the pitfalls associated with presentation visuals. Once participants master these basic skills, the program turns to delivery. Multiple presentation styles are examined, and participants learn effective delivery techniques. Each participant is videotaped making a presentation, and coached individually through both written and verbal feedback from the instructor and other participants. Each participant is given the video of their presentation and feedback session. From beginning to end, this module is designed with busy professionals in mind: it focuses on practical and useful information that can be applied immediately.
Typically 8 to 16 hours.
